He will begin his duties February 3.
Brown said, “Mr. Gupton brings a wealth of human resources experience to Halifax County, with special experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management and compensation.”
He is a certified ethics and compliance trainer. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from North Carolina State University and a master's in business administration and human resources management from Strayer University.
Gupton will direct the human resources department that comprises human resources, Veterans Services, Council on Aging and Commodity Foods. He will serve as a member of the county's management team.
He currently resides in Smithfield with his wife and daughter but plans to relocate to the county.
