Mr. Allen was born in Halifax County, January 1, 1930, to the late Lee Allen and Dora Love Allen. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He loved to visit the elderly and those in need of friendship, and enjoyed helping others..
Surviving is his wife, Deanie Allen; children, Kim Allen Kidd, Keith Allen, and Jean Allen Landen, all of Roanoke Rapids; sister, Dorothy Allen Waters of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Alan Kidd, Blake Danielle Kidd, Jason Allen Landen and Jessica L. Watts; great-grandchilden, Nathan Watts and Bristol Faith Landen. Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 6-8 pm, and all other times at his daughter, Kim Kidd’s, home. Rev. Randy Martin will conduct funeral services at the funeral home, Monday, March 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
