RRHS 2014 Women's Soccer awards

The Roanoke Rapids High School Women’s Soccer team held their awards ceremony Wednesday night.

 

The entire team was recognized for winning the Northern 2A Conference title with an 11-1 conference record.

Their final season record was 14-4.

Seniors Kayla Miller, Laura Murray, Jessica Neville and Dee Dee Jones were acknowledged.

The final cumulative record for the seniors was an impressive 63-13-2.

They were 4 time Conference Champions, had a 10-4 career playoff record and were key members of the 2013 2A Eastern Regional Runner Up team.

2014 Team award winners were:

Best Offensive Player: Kayla Miller

Best Defensive Player: Catherine Acree

Most Valuable Player: Chloe Wilson

Coach’s Award: Laura Murray

All Conference Winners: Kayla Miller, Chloe Wilson, Laura Murray, Harley Shearin & Catherine Acree.

All Conference Honorable mention: Kourtney Livesay & Kristy Price.

1st Team All Region Winners (region 5): Chloe Wilson, Kayla Miller and Harley Shearin.

Wilson finished the season with 12 goals and led the team with 13 assists.

Miller was the leading scorer for the team with 23 goals and 10 assists.

Shearin finished the season with 22 goals and 5 assists.

This was the second consecutive year that Chloe Wilson and Kayla Miller have been voted all region.

Harley Shearin was the only freshman voted on this year’s 1st team.

Josh Curley was voted region 5 Assistant Coach of the Year
