Bonnie Lou Eakes Skipper

Bonnie Lou Eakes Skipper, 66, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.  

Bonnie was born September 14, 1947 in Person County, NC to the late Alton Eakes and Alene Bowling Eakes Capps. 

She was a waitress at Community Drive In “Café”, and worked at Cinderella’s Beauty Shop.  

Bonnie also had her own beauty shop at her home for over 30 years. 

She never met a stranger and loved taking bus trips, and loved going to “Fan Fare” in Nashville, TN.

Bonnie also loved racing, especially dirt track racing and she was an avid bowler.  

Bonnie is survived by her husband Lawrence V. Skipper; her son, Timmy Skipper and wife Michelle; daughter, Sherry Davis and husband Chris all of Roanoke Rapids.  

Three grandchildren, Christopher Skipper, Joshua Pulley, and Hunter Davis.  

Also surviving are two brothers, Lannie Eakes of Stem, NC; and Alton Dwayne Eakes of Leesville, NC.  

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating.  

Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the funeral home from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.  Online condolences may be made at www.hockadayfs.com.
