Briggs, Crew named KapStone foresters

KapStone Kraft Paper Corporation recently named Joe “Joey” H. Briggs, Jr. and S. Ellis Crew to the position of forester at the Roanoke Rapids Mill.

Briggs

Briggs served in various roles within the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District, most recently as the assistant principal at Roanoke Rapids High School.

Briggs has also worked with Union Camp and as a timber buyer for a local company.

He earned his Master of Science in School Administration and Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from North Carolina State University.

He and his wife, Shea, reside in Roanoke Rapids with their two children.

Crew

Crew most recently worked as a procurement forester with Enviva Pellets.

His prior work experience includes working as a procurement forester with J&B Logging and Timber Company, assistant county ranger with the North Carolina Forest Service in Northampton County and a summer co-op with Coastal Lumber Company.

Crew is a graduate of Wayne Community College with an Associate Degree in Forest Management Technology.

He is a member of the North Carolina Forestry Association and Northampton County Forestry Association.

 

He lives in Pleasant Hill with his wife, Melissa, and their three children.
