The 3rd Annual Enfield Horse Show takes

place Saturday, September 6, 2014.

Special to RRSPIN

The show will be held – rain or shine – at the Halifax Livestock Center, 13763 NC

Hwy 903, in Halifax. Last year, we had the largest participation in the Tri-County

Horse Club Circuit. This year, Lenne Ward, president of the Enfield Lions, predicts

an even larger turnout.

Enfield was once the home of the largest one-day horse show in the nation. Beginning

in 1951 the show ran annually for more than 20 years. The Enfield Lions Club has revived

the tradition. Join us for a fun, all-breed, multi-discipline horse show.

Admission is free to the general public. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and

other goodies at the concession stand. The show starts at 10 a.m.

Back by popular demand: A Breyer Model Horse Show, one of our most popular events

last year, will be on display. All are invited to bring your collection of Breyer horse statues

to the show to enter into the model horse show. Don’t forget to fill out the “Judges Card”

for your favorite horse. Prizes, ribbons, trophies will be given. Saddle Up a Stick Horse:

A Stick Horse Show for children will be held during the mid-show break. Children can build

their very own stick horses at home and bring them to the show or they can create them

during the morning of the show at the Saddle Horse tent (supplies provided). Prizes will be given.

Participants/Riders can find entry forms online at the Tri-County Horse Show website

www.tchs.bravehost.com. Casey Armstrong, a board member of the North Carolina Horse

Council Foundation and resident of Enfield, is an adviser for this Lions event.
