The annual event kicks-off at 10 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. at River Falls Park in Weldon on September 20. This will be the 24th year.
This year the event will host children's amusements such as a mechanical bull ride, rock climbing wall, inflatables, laser tag, a super slide and spinning attraction known as the Wizzer.
The state Treasury Department will be at the festival with the NC Cash booth. They will be looking to see if there is anyone with money that is owed them that has not been claimed.
In addition to the amusements, there will food, entertainment and arts and crafts.
Bakery & Simply Divine Cakes will hold a cupcake eating contest at 1 p.m. There will be an adult and children's division.Pre-registration can be done at the shop at 1032 Roanoke Avenue or on the day of Ducky Derby before 1 p.m. The fee is $5 and the winner will win the pot as well as a voucher for free cupcakes. The traditional duck race gets under way at 2:30 p.m. with the winner getting $2,000.
Ducks can be purchased at area businesses displaying the adopt a duck sign.
