The Chaloner Jackets won a hard fought football 
game Wednesday night at Hoyle field defeating 
Gaston College Prep (GCP) to become regular 
season champs of the Roanoke Middle School 
Athletic Conference. 

It was a great game to be there in person, and 
both teams came ready to play. The score was 
tied up 14 to 14 at the half. Both teams scored 
in the fourth quarter, but the Jackets took the 
lead with 31 seconds left in the fourth quarter 
to win the game. 

#7 Corey Jenkins had a big offensive game for the 
Jackets. Jenkins ran touchdowns of 42 and 55 yards. 
He also had a 31 and 55 yard touchdown as a receiver. 
Jenkins ran the football for 121 yards on 10 attempts. 
Jenkins also caught 3 passes from #12 Jack Carlisle 
for 112 yards. 

The leading players on defense for the Jackets was 
#7 Corey Jenkins and #56 Dylan Jenkins who had a 
part of 16 tackles a piece. #63 Collin Harris, #50 
Jalon Brown, and #60 Rodney Robinson also made 
some big plays on defense. 

The Chaloner Jackets ended the regular season 
undefeated with a 7-0 record. 

The Jackets are conference champs and will get the 
#1 seed in the middle school football playoffs next week.
