On Saturday, October 25th the RRHS cross country
teams traveled to Raeford, NC to run in the Mideast
2A Regional Cross Country Meet. There were 16 teams
from the Mideast Region there to compete in the event.
The RRHS Men's team finished 6th place in the Region.
Individual results were: 1. Sonny Watson 19:44 2. Shaun Fromal 19:49 3. Noah Joyner 21:14 4. Josh Elias 21:18 5. Dakota Sweet 21:44 6. Hunter Hargrave 22:02 7. David Langley 22:20
The RRHS Women's team finished 7th place in the Region.
Individual results were: 1. Katherine Clayton 21:13 2. Kate Pleasant 25:17 3. Shyann Clark 26:47 4. Rachel Price 29:25 5. Erica Whitmire 29:49 6. Amanda Chau 31:02 7. Laura Brown 31:37
Katherine Clayton finished 10th in the Region. This
finish helped her earn All-Region Honors and qualify
her for the State Championship Meet. Clayton will
compete in the 2A State Championship meet on
Saturday, November 1 in Kernersville, NC.
"Our teams really ran their hearts out at the Regional
Meet. You could tell they pushed themselves and it
showed in a lot of season best times for our runners.
I am so proud of all of them. I am especially proud of
Katherine Clayton for her making the All-Region team
and qualifying for the State Championship meet. What
a great honor for her," said coach Mark Snead. "This has been a great season for both of our teams.
We had two seniors in Sonny Watson and Rachel Price
who were great captains and led these teams to very
strong finishes on the season. We will miss their hard
work and leadership. It has been a true pleasure to
coach them," Snead added.
