The Chaloner Jackets took care of business in the rain
Wednesday night at Hoyle field by beating Gaston
Middle in the first week of middle school football playoffs.
The Jackets defeated Gaston Middle by the score 30 -0.
It was a close game in the first half. Gaston had two
chances in the red zone to score, but the Jackets defense
came up strong. The turning point of the game was great
98 yard touchdown run by #7 Corey Jenkins in the final
minute of the half. Jenkins had touchdown runs of 10, 98
and 32 yards. Jenkins had 8 rushing attempts for 192
yards. Jalon Brown also had a one yard touchdown run.
Defensive leaders were Jalon Brown, Corey Jenkins, and
Dillon Jenkins with 7 tackles each.
