Mrs. Midgette was born in Halifax County, June 16, 1927, to the late Henry Grady Baggett and Elvira Robinson Baggett.  

She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired from JP Stevens & Bibb Company after more than 40 years of service.  

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Midgette was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald H. Midgette and her brothers, James Fenton Baggett and Herman Ray Baggett. 

Surviving are her son, Jack Midgette and wife, Janie; sisters, Helen B. Wallace and Meriam “Mae” B. Williams, all of Roanoke Rapids; grandson, Stephen Midgette and wife, Andrea; great-grandchildren, Jackson Midgette and Brayden Midgette.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 2-3pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation, and all other times at the home Jack and Janie Midgette.  Rev. Randy Martin will conduct funeral services following the visitation in the chapel at Hockaday at 3:30 pm with interment to follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
