Smith Family Martial Arts
of Roanoke Rapids brought home some gold this past
weekend in Durham.
Instructor Master Smith traveled to Durham with eight
students to compete in the 14th Annual Mid-Atlantic
TaeKwonDo Championship at Githens Middle School in
Durham this past Saturday.
The following students made the trip. Tracy Story (35),
Elijah Smith (13), Hunter Adams (12), Cole Klotz (12),
Autsin Reaves (11), Jordan Hunter (9), Sage Klotz (7)
and Travis Carter (6) earning a total of 16 medals, 5

Smith Family Martial Arts promote a family atmosphere
with classes Monday through Friday for children ages 5
and up to adults men and women. They offer after school
classes with school pick-up, study time and snacks along
with class. The daily classes are centered on Self-Defense,
but also offer of competition opportunities all the way up
to the National level.
Smith Family Martial Arts participate in and teach Olympic
style sparring. Students can earn a black belt within 3-5
years. Students learn safe breaking techniques and begin
by using re-breakable boards and then move to pine boards.
By the time a student reaches a black belt level, they will
have received enough training to break a cement block.

Smith Family Martial Arts is ideal if you are interested in
improving yourself both physically and mentally. Martial
Arts offers discipline, physical conditioning, confidence
and mental stimulation.

Master Smith

"I teach "Never Quit" and my students learn a lot from
TaeKwondo", said Master Smith. "I challenge the kids to
continue and go higher" he added.
