More than just a hour of work

It was Monday afternoon, days before Friday night's RRHS kickoff, but Larry Rooker was at Roanoke Rapids Hoyle field preparing for the first round of the NCHSAA 2A state play-offs.

Mr. Rooker volunteers his skill and time to the football program by painting the field weekly on game weeks. He has added the school colors of black and gold, Pink for Cancer Awareness month, yellow jackets and more.

So for several days a week after work, Mr. Rooker can be seen walking a line or spraying a number or putting that special mark for you Jacket fans to see. The fans thank you Mr. Rooker for you hard work and dedication to detail on Hoyle field.
