Peggy Moore Dickens Wilson

Peggy Moore Dickens Wilson, 76, died Tuesday November 25, 2014 at her home.

Peggy was born August 31, 1938 in Halifax County to the late Van Exum and Laura Miles Moore.  

She was a loving wife, mama, grandma, and great-grandma.  

Peggy never met a stranger, and was a woman of great strength.  

She loved cooking and feeding people, you never left her house hungry.  Peggy’s favorite hobby was shopping.  

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Edward Van “E.V.” Wilson; her brothers Hubert, Dick, Harold, and Wayne Moore; her grandson Kenneth Steven Bailey, II; and her great-grandson Chance Stanley.  

She is survived by her son Bernard Lynn Harris and special friend Tish of Roanoke Rapids; her daughters Debra Jean Pilkington of Smithfield; Wanda Kay Bailey of Roanoke Rapids; Shawn Harris Haislip and husband Mike of Darlington; her brother Tom Moore and wife Jane of Roanoke Rapids; her sister Janet Moore Carson of Roanoke Rapids; 9 Grandchildren Kris Harris; Todd Harris; Justin Harris; Marvin Stanley, II; Shannon R. Hobbs, Nikki Stanley; Jessica Bailey Council; Amber Rene Haislip; and Miranda Neal Haislip; her great-grandchildren Taylor; Dallas; Brantley; Gabriel; Kamryn; Sarah; Crystal; Autumn; Malachi; Reggie; and Kenny.  Peggy is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Mr. Jeff Haislip officiating.  

Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 prior to the service also at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.hockadayfs.com.
