Northwest Halifax freshman football player invited to USA football camp

Tyrell Manley the son of Terrance and Yolanda Smith received his letter from USA Football, inviting him to a two day camp and try out for the national USA football team.

USA Football has 24 regional camps all over the USA with college coaches. The camps help the student athletes gain skills that will help them in their respective schools on the football field. It also gives the athletes have a opportunity to showcase their skills to have the chance to gain a spot on the USA National Football team.

"It is a honor for him to receive the invite this year especially as a freshman football player," said his father Terrance Smith. Manley attends Northwest Halifax High School and was coached by Derrick Basnight, Neal Watson, Ben Simmons, Damon Anding, John Thomas and Donald Ford. He is a Honor roll student and plans to attend Clemson University upon his graduation. "His mother Ylonda Smith and I are very proud of him as well as his Grandparents Jennifer Beale, Brenda Smith Davis and Leon Davis," added Smith.

Manley is the lead drummer at New Jersusalem Church of God in Woodland,NC under the leadership of Dr. Apostle Randy L. Beale Sr. and National First Lady Barbara Beale. The camp this year will be in Charlotte NC on March 28th and 29th. With the support of his family and friends we believe that he will be able to make the USA National team and earn the right to make the trip to AT&T Stadium to represent Northwest Halifax High School in the National Games in Dallas Texas.
