Around 2 a.m. Officer Ryan Cross stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on Highway 158 near Vine Street.
During the traffic stop, Cross conducted a search of the driver, Dantavius Drel Pittman, 18 of Halifax, and the vehicle.
During that search Cross located marijuana and cited Pittman to court on June 5 for possession of marijuana.
Around 2:15 a.m. Lieutenant Jeff Baggett was on routine patrol in the area of River Road when he noticed vehicles parked at the Canal Trail entrance.
During a search of the vehicle of Harley Nicole Staton, 19, of Scotland Neck, marijuana and paraphernalia was found.
Baggett cited Staton to court for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on June 5.
April 7
Around 3 a.m. Officer Gerald Morris responded to an assault call in the 200 block of Summit Avenue.
Morris spoke with the victim about the matter and noticed injuries to the face.
After speaking with Nichole Elizabeth Barkley, 30, of Roanoke Rapids, Morris arrested and charged her with assault and breaking and entering.
Barkley was held without the opportunity for bond and given a June 5 court date.
The breaking entering charge stems from Barkley knocking glass out of the door and then coming inside the residence where she did not live.
Around 3:30 a.m., Cross was on routine patrol when he saw two people walking in the 1200 block of Hamilton Street.
During the interaction Cross located marijuana on Troy Elmore Patterson, 18, of Roanoke Rapids. Cross cited Patterson to court on June 5 for possession of marijuana.
