4.5 acres of Patterson land sold to SECU

The Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools District Board of Education this evening unanimously approved the sale of 4.5 acres of land at the former Patterson Mill site to the State Employee's Credit Union.

Littleton police have a person of interest in an armed robbery that occurred at the Minit Check store around 10:30 this morning.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has received information on a scam where two residents were contacted through Facebook, giving instructions on how to claim $150,000.

Sheriff's office starts E-business program

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has implemented a new program for all businesses in Halifax County similar to the E-Sheriff program.

Halifax County District Court Judge Teresa Robinson Freeman will decide Friday whether there is enough evidence from a probable cause hearing today to send an indecent liberties count against a Roanoke Rapids minister to superior court.

Jenkins recount set Wednesday

The recount requested by Edith Jenkins in the Weldon City Schools Board of Education race will be held Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.

As the city continues reviewing the applications of four finalists for the position of police chief, the Halifax County Branch of the NAACP made a renewed push to name a citizens advisory panel to help with screening in the process.
