Governor Pat McCrory has declared a State of Emergency in all 100 counties in preparation for severe weather that is predicated to cause severe flooding throughout the state.

While predictions remain unclear whether Hurricane Joaquin will directly impact the area through heavy winds, the rains before and during it remain a concern.

This past Saturday morning, the Roanoke Cinema in Roanoke Rapids hosted 350 supporters of Northampton County native Anna Jones and provided a free special screening of her documentary of her father “Chairman Jones: A Portrait of My Father”.
