Eatman appointed to HCC board

Deans Eatman, a Roanoke Rapids High School graduate and current senior at North Carolina State University, was appointed Tuesday by the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Board of Trustees to serve on the Halifax Community College Board of Trustees.

Eyes in the sky: Bladerunner nets 33 plants

With help from eyes in the sky, the City County Drug Task Force and Halifax County Sheriff's Office seized 33 marijuana plants today.

For Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp, the new stickers on the office's marked patrol cars are as much a statement of his own faith as they are a tribute to the founding fathers, especially those in Halifax who crafted the Resolves.

City Manager Joseph Scherer reported to council this evening three events have been booked at the Roanoke Rapids Theatre.

A resolution of intent to formally close Barrett Street is another signal of the impending construction of a new Manning Elementary School.
