Bobette Butler Rose, 89, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at her home.

Mrs. Rose would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. She is reuniting with friends and family who she has not seen in a long time.

She was born February 23, 1934, in Hertford County to the late McLynn and Emma Butler.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Henry Rose, her sons Robby Smith and Dennis Smith, her brothers Barum Flythe, Edgar Flythe, and Henry Paul Butler, and her sisters Mary Britt and Nellie Lane.

She is survived by her daughter Dinah Taylor and her husband Norman of Roanoke Rapids; her son Andy Rose and girlfriend Melissa Manning of Roanoke Rapids; four grandsons and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Victory Baptist Church Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 2:00PM with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating.  No visitation will be held.

We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey.  We will remember and celebrate her smile, warmth, energy, love for life, family, and God.
