Sharon Ann Starrette Sykes, 67, of Gaston passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024.
Sharon was born January 2, 1957, in Chesapeake, Virginia to the late William Starrette and Ann Hagwood Starrette.
Sharon was also preceded by her husband of fifty-one years, Tony Lee Sykes.

Sharon is survived by her children, Tony Lee “T.L.” Sykes, II and his wife Melissa of Gaston, Kelly Crandell and her husband Charlie of Farmville and Wendy Sykes of Gaston; her grandchildren, Rebecca Sykes, Allyssa Norwood and her husband Matt, Hannah Anderson and her husband Garrett, Joshua Kane, Will Crandell and his wife Amber, Coby Crandell, Zachery Vaughan and Hunter France; her great grandchildren, Gabrielle Norwood, Jamie Myrick, Savannah Myrick, Dalton Anderson, Brayden Crandell and Savanna Crandell; her brothers, Wayne Starrette of Gaston and Leslie Starrette of Virginia Beach, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27, 2024, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Charlie Carter and Rev. Eric Bass officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
