Congressman Don Davis is now accepting applications from high school seniors in North Carolina’s First Congressional District seeking nominations to a United States service academy for the fall 2024 term.

“As a proud U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, I am honored to have the privilege and responsibility of nominating exceptional high school students for acceptance to our nation's esteemed military academies,” said Davis. “This process plays a role in shaping the future leaders of our armed forces, and I am confident these outstanding individuals will continue to uphold the highest standards of excellence and integrity. Our nation's military academies are where tomorrow's heroes are born, and I am delighted to be a part of their journey.”

Davis will nominate up to 10 high school students from eastern North Carolina for attendance at each of the four service academies: the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NewYork.

Students interested in applying should visit Davis’s website to learn more about the process and complete an application.

The website features specific instructions on the accompanying forms and required documents, including an application form, an essay, a high school transcript, ACT/SAT scores, and letters of recommendation.

All required forms and documents must be properly compiled, so interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
