Captain Scott Hall said Edward William Elliott, 29, was clocked speeding on Interstate 95 by Lieutenant M. Brown shortly before 1:45 Monday morning.

Brown initiated a stop at the 171 mile marker but Elliott continued in the southbound lane until he crashed near the weigh station at the Nash County line.
