The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Baseball team defeated Martin County by a score of 8-0 on Thursday night.  
Jackets pitcher Carson Duncan picked up the win on the mound by pitching 6 shutout innings while striking out 7 batters.  Maddox Bullock pitched the final inning striking out 2 batters.
Leading hitters for the Yellow Jackets were Wil White with 3 hits (2 RBI), Collin Elias with 2 hits (3 RBI), while Jackson Midgette, Tyler Pearce (1 RBI), and Shep Fowler (1 RBI) had one hit apiece.
The Yellow Jackets are now 2-0 on the season and are scheduled to travel to Granville Central on Friday afternoon for a 5pm game.
