The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Baseball team had an exciting 8-7 come from behind win over Franklinton on Friday night.
Trailing 7-1 going into the bottom of the 5th inning, the Yellow Jackets scored 7 unanswered runs to win the game. Wil White got the night going by hitting an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead. Franklinton would score 7 runs in a row to take a 7-1 lead. In the bottom of the 5th the RRHS offense came to life. Maddox Bullock and Ayden Brantley had RBI singles to cut the deficit to 7-5. Then in the bottom of the 6th Collin Elias had a bases loaded 3 RBI double to give the Yellow Jackets the 8-7 lead.
Gannon Deberry pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning to pick up the win.
The Yellow Jackets are now 3-0 on season and 1-0 in conference play. The next game for RRHS will be on the road at Northern Nash on Tuesday March 12
