Weldon police are looking for two people who committed an armed robbery at a store in the 200 block of East Second Street Monday night.

Commissioners OK Montfort design plans

Halifax County commissioners have agreed on design plans for the renovation of the Joseph Montfort Amphitheater, which was home to the outdoor drama First for Freedom.

Halifax County commissioners Monday night approved two economic development incentive grants — one for a company considering locating in the area and another for an established industry looking to expand.

The State Bureau of Investigation and the Littleton Police Department have concluded their investigation into the deaths of three family members whose bodies were found June 9 at 1010 Kirkland Street.

Hedgepeth dies in prison custody

Rowland A. "Nook" Hedgepeth, a Halifax County death row inmate, died this afternoon of natural causes, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
