CALENDAR OF MEETINGS:
City Council Regular Meeting
Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 5:15 p.m. in the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall.
The public is invited to attend or may join the meeting through Zoom.

The City of Roanoke Rapids is now accepting applications for the following positions:
Finance/Tax Technician (Part Time)
An employee in this position works closely with the Revenue/Tax Collector processing payments for City services and other forms of revenue. (Approximately 25 hours per week) An employee in this position will also assist with biweekly payroll entry and be trained as backup for processing as needed. Prior payroll experience a plus. Applicant must be eligible for bond as required by law. Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and pass a background check and drug screen.
Public Works Worker (Part Time)
An employee in this position performs skilled technical and trades work. Performs maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment. Includes grass cutting and leaf collection. Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and pass a background check and drug screen.
Property Maintenance Worker
An employee in this position performs skilled technical and trades work. Performs maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment. Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and pass a background check and drug screen.
Lifeguard (Part Time)
An employee in this position assists in all aspects of operations of the recreation center swimming pool and aquatic center. The employee has the responsibility for making sure that the facility is maintained in good condition, to ensure that participants in swimming activities and classes are in a safe and clean environment.
Minimum Qualifications: Must hold American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/ CPR/AED certification – Must be able to complete ½ mile swim in under 20 minutes.
This position is responsible for the enforcement of state and local laws.
Be a high school graduate or have passed the General Educational Development Test indicating high school equivalency.
Possession of valid driver's license with an active and consecutive 3-year satisfactory verifiable driving history. Driving history will be checked. (Must be able to be licensed in the State of North Carolina).
Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission.
Must possess a valid or current Basic Law Enforcement Training (B.L.E.T.) certificate.
Candidates must provide documentation of B.L.E.T. Certificate. Certified Officers preferred but will accept application for BLET Candidates.
(CERTIFIED Starting salary $35,000.00)

MUNICIPAL OFFICES CLOSED/TRASH COLLECTION: Municipal Offices will be closed on Thursday, December 24th and Friday, December 25th in observance of Christmas. Thursday and Friday’s trash routes will be collected on Wednesday, December 23rd.
