KIPP falls to North Edgecombe 46-24

 


KIPP Pride high came up short in the fourth quarter against the North Edgecombe Warriors Friday night.  Playing their best game this season on both sides of the ball, the Panthers had the score tied at 24-24 midway through the third quarter when fatigue, injuries and turnovers all caught up with them. 

The Warriors tallied 22 unanswered points in the final period to drop KIPP to 1-3 for the season. 

KD Goode rushed for 102 yds. and a touchdown, plus returned a stripped ball 38 yards for another TD.  Larry Cotton added 92 yards and Markee Weaver 16 yards plus a touchdown. 

Defensive standouts were Markee Weaver, Larry Cotton, Caleb Alston and Marvin Lee. 

KIPP has an open date next week and opens conference play Oct. 11 against Northwest Halifax.
