The Roanoke Valley Power (04) U8 has a hard day on the diamond

The RV Power (04) girls travel softball team, who came off a 3-0 winning streak Saturday ran into a roadblock Sunday.

RV Power (04) U8 girls finished 3rd in Red Oak in the  NC USSSA tournament

In game one of the day, they faced the Sand Sharks and could not get their bats hitting and came up short 12-14 and were sent to the losing bracket.

They then faced the Lady Raptors and lost 19-15. "We were unable to pull out clutch hits when we needed and made lots of errors in the field", said head coach Jen Ott.

"It was our tournament to loose. Girls end in a heart break. As I told them it happens to us all wipe away the tears we win and loose as a team and today was just not our time", she added

Coach Ott said, "we will come back and show what we got at our season end tournament as we play the Winter world Series November 16 - 17.
