All seven Valley Cheer teams place either 3rd, 2nd or 1st
Plagued by the stomach flu, Valley Cheer showed Raleigh their cheerleaders will let nothing stop them from showing up to a competition and taking home the gold!
Valley Cheer, a local All Star Cheerleading gym traveled to Raleigh this past Saturday for the “Champions of the East Cheer” Competition and showed true heart as they competed with several other gyms from across NC and SC and took home nothing less than 3rd place for all 7 of their cheer teams.
Several girls were just getting over the stomach flu and one cheerleader traveled with high temps and a trash can as she was throwing up in between routines, there was nothing that would let them disappoint their team members.
Jennifer Fowler, coach at Valley Cheer stated “I am so very proud of the heart and dedication these girls showed today! Those are the lessons we hope stick with them when cheerleading is just a memory”.
The Tiny Angels took home 2nd place, this team consists of 2-5 year old's and is the youngest team in the gym. This was their first competition of the season and they definitely have the cute factor in their favor.
The JR1 Transformers and the Mighty Minis both took home 1st place. Youth 2 Superhero’s, SR2 Fierce Force and the Triple Fab all came home with 2nd place wins and the JR3 HEAT came home with a 3rd place win.

Heather Merritt, Head Coach and owner of Valley Cheer couldn't be more proud of this award. “Teaching our girls sportsmanship as well as dedication and team work is our goal. We have always had the motto “One Heart” and this is exactly what all of our girls have shown this season. I couldn't be more proud of each and every one of them”, said Merritt.
Valley Cheer will travel to Richmond on Superbowl Sunday to compete in one of their last competitions of their 8th season.
