Halifax County native Earl Wheeler does it again

Former resident of Roanoke Rapids and now NASCAR engine builder for Hendrick Motorsports Earl wheeler had his product in victory lane again in Daytona Sunday night with the 88 Chevrolet of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

This Wheelers third time in victory lane in Daytona for the two time NASCAR engine builder of the year winner. In 2005 he build the power for winner Jeff Gordon, in 2006 it was Jimmie Johnson power built engine that made it to victory lane and now in 2014, Wheeler has build the Dale Junior engine. Wheeler said, "I can't believe I had a Daytona 500 winning engine for the 3rd time."
