Halifax Academy Varsity baseball team lost its season opener to Lawrence Academy 9-8 Saturday night at Fleming Stadium in Wilson.

Halifax Academy scored 1st in bottom of 2nd inning. It was a close game going to the bottom of 7th inning to determine the winner.

Luke Blackman was starting pitcher, he pitched 1st 3 innings and returned to pitch the 7th inning. Struck out 7 total and walked 6. Collin Smith was the relief pitcher and Struck out 1 and walked none.

At the plate Matthew Wray had a single, Luke Blackman had a single and a double, Collin Smith had a single, Andrew Bryant had a single and double, Ryan Mizelle had 3 singles, Landen Poole had a single and a double and Tyler Jomo had a double.
