Roanoke Rapids softball cruises past Northern Nash, 12-5
Northern Nash had a tough outing on Tuesday, as Yellow Jackets dominated in a 12-5 win in seven innings.
Jordan Carpenter had a solo over the fence home run in the third inning.
Yellow Jackets scored four runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Sierra Hearp, an RBI double by Carpenter, an RBI single by Breanna Allen, and an RBI single by Brooke Vincent.
The Yellow Jackets went up for good in the first inning, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Brooke McClenny and an RBI single by Hearp. Hunter Martin also had a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning.
Hearp earned the win striking out 9 batters.
At the plate Carpenter had a double and a home run, McClenny and Hearp each had 2 singles and a double, Breanna Allen had 3 singles, Hope Vincent had 2 singles, Brooke Vincent had a single and a double, Brianna Allen had a double, Martin had a home run and Taylor Connell had a single.
Roanoke Rapids moves to 3-0 with their next game as a double header hosting Southern Nash Thursday March 13th.
