Five members of the Roanoke Rapids High school Yellow Jackets men's golf team played round one of the two day 2A State Championships at Beacon Ridge Country Club.

After round one and 18 holes of golf, Spencer Hargrove is the highest Jacket tied in 11th place with a seven over par 79. Clifton Hunter is tied in 22nd place with a nine over par 81. Jackson Gowen and Thomas Merritt are tied in 48th place with a sixteen over par 88. Trey West is tied in 55th place with a eighteen over par 90.

There are 84 golfers in the 2A NCHSAA State Championship.

The second round gets under way Tuesday May 9th at Beacon Ridge Country Club.
