The Halifax Community College Board of Trustees recently celebrated the service and contributions of Michael Williams during his tenure as a member and chair of the board.

Williams served on the board from August 19, 2019 to June 30, 2023.

He played a pivotal role in driving the success of Halifax Community College, the college said.

Michael Mills, board chair, expressed “the deep gratitude of the board of trustees and the entire HCC community for Dr. Williams' outstanding contributions.”

Mills presented Williams a commemorative plaque during the board’s October 31 meeting. “This plaque serves as a symbol of the college's profound appreciation for Dr. Williams’ dedicated service and unwavering commitment to the betterment of HCC,” the college said.

In addition to Chairman Mills, other trustees and HCC President Patrena B. Elliott expressed their gratitude to Williams.

Elliott said that she “will always be grateful for the support that Dr. Williams provided to her from the moment he handed her the keys to the college.”
