The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is continuing to investigate and is seeking any information on a bomb threat called into Walgreens on Smith Church Road this morning.

Lieutenant Morgan Worrell said there is no longer an active threat at the store after officers and Lieutenant R. White and his dog Pori of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office made a sweep of the building, which included a thorough physical search.

Time of the call was shortly before 8:45 a.m. and the caller said an explosive device was inside.
