A stop early this morning in the area of Becker Drive and Old Farm Road resulted in the arrest of three Northampton County men on drug and gun charges.
Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy I. Miller and Corporal J. Velez were patrolling that area when Miller stopped a vehicle driven by Michael Brown Jr., 29, of Gaston.
During the search of the vehicle, three concealed firearms, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were located.

Brown was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed firearm. Brown also had an outstanding Halifax County order for arrest for DWI.
The passengers, Montrell Johnson, 26, and Daiz Banks, 30, both of Pleasant Hill, were also arrested. Johnson was charged with carrying a concealed gun, possession of schedule I controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver MDMA. Harris said 23 dosage units of ecstasy were seized.
Banks was charged with possession of a firearm by felon.
Brown and Johnson both had pending charges and were jailed without the opportunity for bond. Banks received a $15,000 secured bond and remains in the detention center as of this report.
