The second Nursing Assistant Program cohort graduated from ECU Health North on June 12.

Program Director Leticia Acevedo presented certificates and pins to the graduating employees in recognition of their accomplishments.

Todd Hickey, president of ECU Health North, along with Andrea Chivers, vice president of patient care services at ECU Health North, delivered remarks to the graduates during the ceremony.

The program represents a collaborative effort between the ECU Health Nursing Excellence Department, led by Chief Nurse Executive Dr. Trish Baise, and ECU Health North Hospital.

“We are extremely proud of our ECU team members who have dedicated their time to learning new skills and taking on new roles within our system,” said Chivers. “Their resilience throughout the program has been exceptional, and their commitment to planning their next career step reflects the true purpose of this initiative.”

In addition, graduates will complete their certification testing at the Credentia-approved testing site at ECU Health, operated by the Nursing Excellence Department within the Center for Learning and Performance.

Pam Rudisill, vice president of nursing excellence, said, “Strengthening and growing our workforce aligns with ECU Health’s mission.”

The program recently achieved accreditation from the North Carolina Board of Nursing for a CNA II program.

“Ongoing collaboration among nursing, human resources and the ECU Health North team continues to expand opportunities that support the professional growth of our staff and enhance care for our patients and their families across the health system,” said Rudisill.
