The Halifax County Health Department today added 36 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus since its last report on Friday.

The new positives bring the cumulative total since March to 4,869.

The health department also reported an additional related death which brings the total to 93.

Vaccines

The health department continues to take online only registration for first dose COVID-19 vaccinations.

The vaccinations for groups 1 and 2 will be administered February 17 and 18 at building 700 of Halifax Community College from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants must enter the college from the Country Club Road entrance and follow the signs to the 700 building.

Anyone who has a scheduled vaccine appointment will receive a call from the department for pre-registration.

Northampton County

On Friday the health department reported there were 1,609 total positive cases of which 1,526 have recovered. There were 17 active cases. There have been 66 related deaths.
