Due to severe weather throughout the country the Halifax County Health Department has not received its COVID-19 vaccines for appointments scheduled Wednesday.

“We are presently calling everyone that has an appointment for tomorrow to inform them,” the health department said in a statement today. “As soon as we receive the vaccine we will allow all who were scheduled to be prioritized for the first possible vaccination date. At present time, we do not know when we might receive the vaccine.” 

Daily report

The health department today added 13 new positive cases of COVID-19 to its data. This brings the total number of cumulative positives since March to 4,882.

The health department also added an additional related death, which brings the total to 94.

Northampton County

The health department reported Monday there were 1,625 total positive cases of which 1,535 have recovered. There were 24 current cases. There have been 66 related deaths.
