A Scotland Neck man was arrested and charged Thursday for sex offenses which reportedly occurred between 2008 and 2014.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the allegations against Ronnie Sanderson, 31, were reported in November and Detective R.E. Marshall began an investigation.
While he would not comment specifically on the case, Hall said some victims are able to report these offenses immediately while others have to build up courage to report the crime.
Sanderson faces charges of two counts of felony statutory sex offense by an adult, felony indecent liberties with a child, felony statutory rape of a child between the ages of 13-15, and felony statutory sex offense of a person who is between the ages of 13-15.
He received a $150,000 secured bond and April 22 court date.
