Property at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Premier Boulevard is being prepared for a Hwy 55 Burgers and Shakes restaurant.
No timeline for completion of construction was included in documents filed with the Roanoke Rapids Planning and Development Department.
Site plans call for a 2,405-square-feet restaurant with a drive-through and a 263-square-feet outside cooler. The inside occupancy is 67 people and there will be outside space available for 20.

Hwy 55 was born out of the former Andy’s Cheesesteaks & Burgers, in which the first under the Andy’s name opened in 1991.
Today, there are more than 130 of the open-grill diners across eight states and two countries.
