The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported on Thursday shortly before 5 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic checkpoint in the Wallace Fork Road area.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall said Sincere O'Marion Jackson, 18, of Littleton approached the checkpoint and deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle by Deputy I. Smith led to the discovery of approximately 65 grams of marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia.
Jackson was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to sell/deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for a controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Jackson posted a $5,000 bond and has a March 24 court date pending.
Sergeant E. Richardson, Corporal J. Pignanello, and deputies D. Taylor and D. Bybee assisted in the arrest.
