A follow-up on drug complaints Thursday in the Woodland area led to a chase and the eventual arrest of a Pendleton man with outstanding warrants in Northampton and Halifax counties.

Captain Patrick Jacobs of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said Captain C.A. Parker and Sergeant R. Horton were in the Highway 35 area of Woodland shortly before 3 p.m. when they noticed a  vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed.

The agents activated blue lights and siren in an attempt to conduct a vehicle stop for a traffic violation.

Once the occupant of the vehicle failed to stop, a brief vehicle chase began and led into Arrowhead Mobile Home Park.

A brief foot chase of the driver, later identified as 30-year-old Jeffery Quinton White Jr., began and he was later apprehended.

White was arrested and served four outstanding orders for arrest out of Northampton and Halifax counties for failure to appear on drug possession and traffic violations.

As a result of the vehicle chase officers charged White with one count of flee/elude arrest, driving while license revoked, and possession of marijuana less than 1/2 ounce.

White received a $2,000 secured bond on the orders for arrest out of Northampton County; a $750 secured bond on the Halifax County orders for arrest; and an additional $1,000 secured bond on the charges from Thursday.

He has a March 9 court date in Halifax County and a March 15 court date in Northampton County.
