The North Carolina State Supreme Court has postponed its sessions in Eastern North Carolina until 2019.
This includes the scheduled session in Halifax on October 1.
The postponements come in the wake of Hurricane Florence.
"To give communities in Eastern North Carolina the time they need to recover, the bicentennial sessions of Supreme Court that are scheduled for Halifax, Greenville, and New Bern will be rescheduled for 2019. We look forward to rescheduling these sessions," said Amy Funderburk, clerk of the Supreme Court of North Carolina.
