Littleton Mayor Owen Scott tendered his resignation on Monday, the town said in a statement.
The mayor announced his resignation during a Littleton Roundtable Session, citing he was unable to fulfill his duties due to work commitments which require him to be out of town.
He also said he believed the decision was in the town’s best interest. “Littleton’s needs are growing, and it needs a person that can be here for the day to day.”
The town board accepted his resignation and Mayor Pro Tem Stephen Barcelo will fill the position.
