Two Roanoke Rapids men were charged Thursday on fentanyl possession counts after a Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall said the arrests of Brian Vick, 28, and Andrew Hardin, 33, occurred as Deputy D. Bybee was patrolling in the area of Robertson Boat Landing Road around 2:30 p.m.

Bybee noticed a suspicious vehicle on the road near the Thelma Road intersection.

He found both men were in possession of fentanyl.

The men were charged with possession of scheduled II and Hardin was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The men have June 28 court dates.
