The following July 4 events have been scheduled across the Roanoke Valley, according to the Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau:

Saturday

Independence Day celebration at River Falls Park in Weldon from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Free admission, food trucks, music, amusement rides and games. No pets, alcohol, glass containers, fireworks, or weapons.

The downtown Littleton event begins at 10 a.m. with a parade beginning at Lakeland and ending at the Littleton fire department. A summer day market will also be held.

Levitt AMP Littleton Music Concert Series featuring The Empire Strikes Brass band, which will perform from  6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free admission. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.  A food truck will be on site.

Tuesday

The town of Halifax’s annual celebration and fireworks show will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the courthouse complex on Ferrell Lane. There will be food and family activities.

At Historic Halifax from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. there will be musket-firing, living-history demonstrations, and a special reading of the Declaration of Independence. The event is free.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Hobgood the town will celebrate with live music, food and fireworks at Friendship Park.
