Vernon Bryant was unanimously elected chair of the Halifax County Board of Commissioners today during an organizational meeting for the upcoming year.

Linda Brewer was unanimously elected the board’s vice chair.

“I do appreciate your vote of confidence in me as your chair,” Bryant said. “As you all know I will do my very best to always represent this county to the best of my ability.”

Brewer thanked her colleagues for the vote of confidence.
