A victim was shot at a private party early this morning and is in critical condition the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Captain Scott Hall said the sheriff’s office received numerous reports of a shooting just past midnight in the Weavers Chapel Road area of Littleton.

A victim in their early 20s was shot and initially transported to ECU North and then to a trauma unit for further treatment.

Hall said it was not clear what prompted the shooting.
